New Restaurants to Lou!

The Louisville restaurant scene makes living in this city exciting, especially with new restaurants opening up every month!
Havana Rumba Express and Tapas Bar opened the day after Father’s Day on June 17th on Bardstown Road at Douglass Loop. This restaurant is a 2-for-1 with the express side built like a fast casual Chipotle/Qdoba-style restaurant serving up build your own entrees, salads, hot pressed sandwiches and empanadas. On the tapas bar side you can get the classic sit-down menu with empanadas, hot and cold tapas as well as cocktails. My go to tapas? The Miami Hot Wings with a chipotle-orange sauce and the lobster quesadilla. Check out their new express menu
Business First announced that Wild Eggs is opening this fall on Floyd and Market behind Jimmy Johns. This Wild Eggs will be different from the rest with the downtown industrial style of the restaurant- plus the restaurant owner is flirting with a Friday-Sunday 24 hour operation.
The owners of Mussel & Burger Bar have figured out what they are doing with their beautiful renovated basement space. When the restaurant first opened, the owners flirted with the idea of holding the space for private events, but they have one upped themselves. They recently announced they will instead turn the basement into a 42 seat high end restaurant with Miami-style food. No date has been announced but if it’s anywhere near the caliber of Mussel & Burger Bar this new restaurant will be a home run!
