Lunch/Brunch: Mussel and Burger Bar
If you haven’t been to Mussel and Burger Bar yet, what the heck are you waiting for?  Mussel and Burger Bar comes from the team who created Guaca Mole and Havana Rumba located at 9200 Taylorsville Road, somewhat close to the Hurstbourne intersection.  Mussel and Burger Bar opened back in Feburary with a menu boasting six different types of mussels, a dozen custom burgers with 100% angus, house made brioche buns, hand cut pomme frites with truffle oil and served on wooden planks.

But a lot of folks don’t know they started serving brunch last month!  On Sunday they will be serving Brunch 12-4 and their regular dinner menu from 12-8:30. Check out their Brunch menu:

Steak and chorizo quesadilla: Flour tortilla filled with grilled steak, house made chorizo, caramelized onions and peppers, topped with sour cream, pico de gallo, guacamole and 2 fried eggs.

Blueberries and duck confit pancakes: pancakes filled with blueberries and duck confit, topped with foie gras butter and maple syrup.

Spanish chorizo and sundried tomato waffles: waffles stuffed with Spanish chorizo, goat cheese and sundried tomatoes, topped with pork belly, poached eggs, berries and maple syrup.

Croque Madame: a breakfast sandwich made Brioche bread, gruyere cheese, Serrano ham, prosciutto, topped with béchamel and a fried egg. Served with house pomme frites.

Breakfast Nachos: House pomme frites topped with melted Monterrey jack cheese, braised short ribs, pico de gallo, guacamole, sour cream and 2 fried eggs.

Brioche French Toast: Topped with berries, vanilla mascarpone cheese and a salted caramel sauce

If your dad isn’t a brunch guy, here’s what they are serving up as special Father’s Day Specials

Choripan: House made Argentinian Chorizo, French bread, salsa roja, onions, tomatoes, chimichurri sauce and crispy potatoes, served with house frittes.

Daddio’s Prime Burger: A patty blend of prime beef, lettuce, Heirloom tomatoes, red onions, Nueske’s bacon, Dijon mustard and short rib marmalade on Brioche bread.

Heirloom Tomatoes and Burrata Cheese Salad: Annett’s Farm Heirloom Tomatoes, Annett’s peaches, Burrata cheese, age Solera vinaigrette and Micro basil.

Dinner: Down One Bourbon Bar

Down One Bourbon Barwhich opened last February by locally owned Al. J. Schneider Company, is now serving up a full dinner menu.  Located in the basement level across from Actor’s Theatre, Down One boasts an impressive 100+ bourbons, wooden and glass antique furnishings, and one particularly cool looking British red telephone booth hiding a private dining area.

And now they also boast and full dinner menu, which was newly unveiled for the summer.  Adding to their previous menu of salads, soups, and sandwiches, check out their new entrees ranging in price from $13-$17:

Dessert: Comfy Cow
You know Comfy Cow is great, and they think your dad is great too.  So Sunday June 16th, Dads receive a FREE regular cone or cup to celebrate Father’s Day.

And I want to wish my father and father-in-law (both named Jack) a very happy Father’s Day
